Come and support Herne Hill Welcomes Refugees, which gives much-needed support to refugees, and enjoy some great music in the process. Two refugee families already have been housed in Herne Hill due to their work, and they are now raising finds for a third.

The Long String Hawkers are a London-based ensemble playing your finest Americana, bluegrass, blues, gothic country, and the odd backwoods gospel hoedown… expect a lively evening of songs about heartbreak, trains, and less-than-optimal life choices. Music to move you and make you move.

Blue Spike are a new band, pumping out soulful indie rock, punk and blues. Italian vocalist Clizia has become a regular at clubs and venues in Shanghai. Irish guitarist Dave has spent most of his gigging time more locally, here in London. Cornish, bass playing, Phil comes from a background in jazz. Portuguese drummer André has wowed Lisbon with everything from Big Band Jazz to Death Metal.
Founded in 2017, Herne Hill Welcomes Refugees is known throughout the UK for its success and community spirit. With a team of 20 volunteers it has helped bring a refugee family from Iraq to Herne Hill in 2018 under the government’s Community Sponsorship scheme, and resettled another refugee family in 2021.
To help a further family they need another £15,000. The concert will help them reach this target.
