Opal Flutes

Opal Flutes

Formed in 2008, Opal Flutes is a flute choir for all ages and abilities, based in East Dulwich. They perform 3 concerts a year, and regularly make additional appearances at local events. They play a wide variety of music from classical favourites to music from films and shows, and works from the contemporary flute choir repertoire. The choir includes piccolos, alto and bass flutes alongside the usual 'c' flute, and they regularly commission new works - the most recent being ‘Postcards from London’ by the American composer Ricky Lombardo. Opal Flutes was featured on BBC Radio 3 as part of the ‘Get Playing’ initiative, and launched their YouTube channel in 2020.

Norwood and Brixton Foodbank

The Food Bank thinks no one in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why it provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people in crisis who are referred to them. They are part of a nationwide network of food banks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
