Hammond specialist Gary Baldwin first came to prominence with the Tommy Chase Band, since then he has performed with Georgie Fame, Ian Shaw, Jim Mullen, and Alan Barnes, among others, and been the featured soloist with The Echoes of Ellington Jazz Orchestra. Gary is also a member of the Ronnie Scott All Stars. More recently he was the house organist for the Royal Albert Hall Blues Festival playing with Ronnie Wood, Mick Taylor, Van Morrison and Mick Hucknell.
Special guest Roger Beaujolais first came to public attention with jump jive supremos The Chevalier Brothers’ & was then a prominent artist for Acid Jazz Records under the names of The Beaujolais Band & Vibraphonic before moving on to more acoustic jazz, The quartet is completed by Simon Fernsby on guitar & Pete Cater on drums.

Chebetojazz is a jazz quartet led by dynamic saxophonist Jose “Chebeto” Requena, featuring; Nick McCarthy on guitar, Michael Giaquinto on bass and Steve Butcher on drums and percussion. Based in South London, their music is a mixture of standards and original compositions, influenced by the sounds and rhythms of Chebetos native Venezuela.

The regular Monday Jazz Jam features in our programme again this year. The house band, Head's Up, led by Roger Humbles, will entertain you and provide backing to any aspiring jazzers who would like to display their skills or just gain experience. Come and play, or just relax and enjoy a great evening.

The Half Moon
Performing a heady hot jazz mix of rambunctious rags, swinging blues and gorgeous melodies from the 1920s, Doolally Tap’s infectious energy and outstanding musicianship continue to win them fans wherever they play. Led by ace trombonist David Lalljee and early jazz expert/sousaphone player Tom Briers, their exuberant live performances recreate all the original frolicsome fun and energy of the prohibition era in true New Orleans style.
