St Paul's Church
The choir of St Paulís Herne Hill
Choral Evensong is a distinctive form of Evening Prayer used by the Church of England. It was developed by Thomas Cranmer from the medieval Latin offices of Vespers and Compline and has remained largely unchanged since 1549. Evensong is based on parts of the Bible and it is traditionally sung mostly by a choir, with the congregation invited to participate in some spoken parts and sing the hymns.
EVERYONE is very welcome to come and enjoy this service in the beautiful St Paulís Church, whatever your own sense of faith or none. There will be refreshments afterwards.
