Known for her powerful lyrics and stick-in-your-head tunes, indie-pop artist Lilly AKA 'Creature & Machine' returns to the Herne Hill Music Festival to curate a line up of emerging pop-folk and spoken word performers from across the capital. Expect intimate and intricate wordcraft and haunting melodies.

Mica Bernard is an Indie Singer-songwriter whose powerful and warm vocal breathes a soulfulness into her folky sound. Sunny yet stirring her lyrics are honest and invite you into a relatable, witty and heartfelt space. Taking influence from the likes of KT Tunstall, Lianne la Havas, Joan Armatrading and Florence and the Machine. Mica exudes a cool calmness that is captivating to watch.'
Jidé Kuti is a musical storyteller who prides himself on his warmth, authenticity and unique lyrics. The singer/songwriter describes his music as a mix of pop, soul and folk inspired by the likes of Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Jensen McRae and Olivia Dean. As his music is heavily informed by the stories he holds dear, there is a lot of inspiration from anime, Disney and other fictional worlds.
Jas Ratchford draws from a wide range of influences including Laura Marling, Clairo, Joni Mitchell and The Staves, and combines folk roots with a deep appreciation for musical theatre and pop. Her debut EP was released in March 2024 after soundtracking Mark Jonesâ off-West End play âA Part of Youâ at Riverside Studios. The title track, âSecondsâ won Song Academyâs 'Young Songwriter' competition in the same year before being played on BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio London.
Evie Asio describes her sound as âmusical storytellingâ, as a result of her desire to provoke emotions and narrative throughout every layer of her music. Evie grew up in South-East London, where she used the range of musical styles around her to begin writing songs at the age of 15. Evie has since performed at notable venues such as The Spice of Life, Proud Camden and Jazz Live @ The Crypt, as well as supporting BAYLI on her London headline show in 2022. Her November 2022 album received critical acclaim âContending and Contentionâ received critical acclaim in various publications, including Something Else! And Jazz in Europe. Songs across the album have received international radio play, with singles âAvailableâ and âFrom Hereâ being named as China Mosesâ âLate Night Track of the Weekâ on Jazz FM, and âTurning Timeâ and âImperfect Peopleâ being featured on BBC6 Music.
